Ryan trained at Dance Academy of Libertyville near his hometown in Mundelein, IL, receiving instruction from Amy Rose, Katie McCann, Dan Gibson, Chris Courtney, and Emily Winkler. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Grand Valley State University in 2019, receiving Bachelor's degrees in Dance, Business Management, and Accounting.

During his college career, he had the opportunity to perform with the Francesca Harper Project and to attend intensives with Jazz Theater of Illinois and Inaside Dance Chicago, where he danced with Eddy Ocampo, Josh Manculich, Joshua Blake Carter, Robert McKee, Randy Duncan, and Mari Jo Irbe. He studied abroad in Florence, Italy in 2017; received the Alexander Calder Honors Dance Scholarship in Spring 2018; interned at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago in the summer of 2018; and performed in the collaborative dance concert "Sub-Merge" set by Hannah Seidel that Fall. In Spring 2019 his self-choreographed solo, "the same person" was chosen to represent GVSU at American College Dance Association and was advanced to the week-end gala & then again submitted for a performance at Jacob's Pillow.

He was most recently a performing apprentice with Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre in Chicago and continues to pursue performance and arts administration opportunities in Chicago, IL, while making artwork & working from home.
